Sandra Brown, senior visual editor for AJC, sent me a text asking if I was available to cover an assignment. I briefly looked over the assignment and noticed it was near Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. I was a little confused how I was going to take photos of some cowboys in Union City. I actually passed the ranch, because the ranch was really a house with a dozen horses in the backyard and situated right off of Flat Shoals Parkway. Once I parked in the driveway and grabbed my gear, I was immediately transported to another world. I honestly forgot I was shooting an assignment on a super busy road near the one of the busiest airports in the world until Arkansas Dave took his stallion along the parkway.

SNOW - On Assignment for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Last time I saw snow like this in Georgia was the 1993 Blizzard. The news said there might be a few inches in the Atlanta metro area. In the end, we saw as much as 12 inches in parts of North Georgia.
There's nothing like having to hunt down images when on assignment. I started the weekend in Marietta and ended on Saturday in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Very grateful to see the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ran a full page of my snow coverage in Sunday's paper.
Keisha Lance Bottoms Declares Victory As The Next Mayor of Atlanta
Keisha Lance Bottoms defeated her opponent, Mary Norwood, by only a little more than 700 votes. I covered Bottoms election party for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta.

Portrait of Cherry Glover - On assignment for Atlanta Journal-Constitution
She didn't stop smiling the whole time I was with her. Yet, her story rips your heart out of your chest. She has a developmental disability that prevents her from living a normal life. She has four children, but currently has custody of one, her 7-year-old daughter, Asia Glover. Read her story at AJC's website.
